  • Hazardous Chemicals including paints, oils, acids, grease traps etc.

How high can I load the skip bin?

To prevent spillages during transport, please only fill the bins to the rim. It is illegal to transport overloaded bins and your bin cannot be collected if it is overfull. If you don’t have enough space in your skip bin for your waste, consider ordering an extra bin or reloading it after its initial emptying.

Where should the skip bin be placed for pick up?

As a general rule, skip bins need to be placed on private property. This rule tends to include driveways as they are usually within the boundaries of your premises. We request that you have no power lines, overhanging branches or trees that may hinder our trucks’ access. Your driveway should be at least 2.7 meters wide for our standard trucks. If you think your driveway is too small, please let us know – we have smaller trucks for tight access areas.

Please note that if you need us to place the bin off your property, such as on a nature strip, you will need to check with your local council as you may require a permit. We are a registered preferred bin supplier in most areas across Australia.

What bin size do I need?

Typically, skip bins used for household clean ups range from 2 to 6 cubic metres. For larger clean-ups and renovations, we recommend choosing 8 to 10 cubic metre bins.

How long can I hire the skip bin for?

We usually allow our skips bins to be left onsite for 3-4 days. However, we understand that you may need to keep a bin for longer. If you do, let us know on 1300 790 918. Extra charges apply. If you have filled the bin earlier than planned, call us and we’ll come collect it as soon as possible.

How much notice do I need to give when ordering my skip bin?

We’ll deliver the skip on the same day if you place your order before 10 am. Otherwise, we’ll deliver it the next day.

How do I pay for the skip bin?

We accept cash, ViSA and MasterCard. We will ask you for your credit card details over the phone when you place your order. We also accept cash payments to the driver upon delivery. Account applications are available for builders.

What happens to my waste after it has been collected?

At ERA Skip Bins, our focus is on recycling waste and protecting our environment. We sort each skip bin onsite and approximately 90% of all the waste from our bins is recycled and turned into recyclable products such as aggregates, woodchip, cardboard, plasterboards, steel and plastic.
